Sara Sastamoinen was born in Tawas City, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2005. She attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School and obtained her Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, in 2008. Thereafter, Ms. Sastamoinen worked as a Judicial Advisory Assistant in Genesee County.
